Q1. What is collegiate club volleyball?
A1. Collegiate club volleyball is a non-varsity sport competing locally, regionally, and nationally.

Q2. Do you offer scholarships?
A2. Club volleyball is not a varsity sport and we do not offer scholarships.

Q3. I do not have any volleyball experience, can I tryout?
A3. Experience is not a prerequisite for tryouts. However, all of our current players had high school and/or club experience prior to making the team.

Q4. How competitive is Men’s collegiate club volleyball?
A4. Very competitive. There are less than 70 (21 Division 1) Men’s varsity programs in the country so many outstanding male players end up playing club volleyball in college. In comparison, there are over 400 Men’s club teams and 15 organized leagues around the country. Many of the top club programs compete against area varsity teams during fall pre-season (and do very well).

Q5. How competitive is Women’s collegiate club volleyball?
A5. Again very competitive. With now over 200 plus teams all around the country, In the past 10 years, we’ve had over 12 former female high school All-State players. We could easily field a very competitive Div. 2 team.

Q6. What is NCVF Nationals?
A6. Each year NCVF (National Collegiate Volleyball Federation) holds Club National Championships. Men compete in 4 different divisions (Div. 1, 1AA, 2, 3) while Women compete in 3 different division (1, 2, 3) based on level of play and school size. Typically top 48 teams in the nations are invited to participate in Division 1 of Men and Women’s division.

Q7. How much time/commitment does it take?
A7. A college club season is very long. Tryouts are usually held in mid-September. Fall season goes from early October through the first weekend of December. Spring (main) season goes from late January through the second weekend of April, finishing up with NCVF Club Nationals. In addition, our teams have community service and fundraising requirements that we work on throughout the school year.

Q8. How often do you practice?
A8. Usually twice a week (two hours each session).

Q9. How far (and how often) do you travel?
A9. All over New England, NY, NJ, MD, DE and PA. Majority of tournaments are 1 day tournament but there are some tournaments that require Fri-Sun travel. During Fall we usually play 4-5 tournaments. During Spring we play 6-7 tournaments.
